What is your favourite colour?

My favorite colour is green. It is a peaceful colour that makes me think about nature, leaves and forest.

What is the colour that represents you the most and why?

I would say a light gray. A color which is not overly attractive, calm, and that can be easily coordinated.

To you, what is the colour of sadness/happiness/shame?

I would match sadness with black but, in fact, any dark colour would do the job.

I would associate happiness with bright and/or primary colours such as yellow, red, green and orange.

Once again, I would link shame to colours like brown and dark grey.

What does pink represent to you?

To me, pink represents, first of all, a girly colour (the colours of former Disney’s princesses). More recently, I tend to associate it also with the LGBT movement.

In your job, what is the place of colour?

As a chemist, colour plays an important part in my work. It is an important characteristic for most molecules and a change of colour is always a clear sign that ’something (good or not) is happening!'

Can you tell us a colourful memory?

As a child, I loved to close my eyelids and lie down in the sun and under a light, and enjoy the light effects that appeared. They had a geometrical aspect, changing, in which you could let your imagination go.

Do you grant a lot of importance to colours within your wardrobe?

My wardrobe is fairly classic for a man with grey, dark blue, white, brown and beige colours. I use more vivid colours during summer.

What is your favourite painting?

Les glaneuses – Millet
